MR. ZUBAIR AHMED SIDDIQUI
Mr Zubair Ahmed Siddiqui is the current Director of Regional Meteorological Centre, Karachi. He has taken the charge of Director, Regional Meteorological Centre, Karachi in September, 2019. He received his M.Sc.(Physics) degree and PGD (Post Graduate Diploma) in Computer & Information Science from the “University of Karachi”, and received his M.S. / M.Phil.(Meteorology) degree from the “Nanjing University of Information Science & Technology” CHINA. He joined Pakistan Meteorological Department in 1999 as a "Meteorologist" through Federal Public Service Commission.
He has passed various departmental courses as per World Meteorological Organization (WMO) Curriculum / Syllabii, including BIP-MT and BIP-M.
Mr Zubair Ahmed Siddiqui was serving as “DIRECTOR” of Regional Meteorological Centre, for Gilgit-Baltistan region (Northern Areas) of Pakistan. Also has served at PMD’s Climate Data Processing Centre (CDPC) and at the Institute of Meteorology & Geophysics (IMG - the training centre of PMD) and OJT at Aviation Met Office at Karachi Airport. He has vast experience in the fields of Meteorology, Climatology and other related Atmospheric and Earth Sciences including Teaching & Training and Research as well.
He has represented Pakistan in various National and international/foreign conferences, seminars, workshops and trainings, including some in Tokyo-Japan, Seoul-South Korea, China, India, Sri Lanka, Myanmar, Geneva-Switzerland etc. Some of his research papers have been published in reputed national and international peer reviewed Scientific Journals.
